Your pet receives undivided attention from start to finish, and we use only premium grooming products. Appointment & Booking Policies
Our hours are flexible to accommodate your schedule. We are available by appointment only, Monday through Saturday, from 8 AM to 6 PM. We are closed on Sundays.
If you don’t find an available booking slot, please feel free to call us, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
Our office hours are Monday through Saturday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Any messages received after 5 PM will be answered the following business day. Messages sent after 5 PM on Saturdays will be responded to Monday after 8 AM.
Once your appointment is booked, we’ll confirm it 1 day before by text or email. The groomer will inform you of their estimated arrival time (ETA) on the grooming day. Please note that there may be 10-minute to 1-hour delays due to traffic or unexpected situations with previous appointments.
Please let us know if you have any special requests (e.g., parking the van near your apartment building, meeting you at the door, or waiting for you to bring your pet outside).
When approaching the van, please ensure your dog is on a leash for your pet’s and others’ safety. Your pet should be by your side at all times.
When they arrive, we will review your pet’s grooming preferences, and once finished, you’ll receive a text letting you know your pet is ready for pickup.
Yes! You can easily book appointments through our website. Alternatively, you can text or call us at (415) 672-1750 to schedule an appointment.
Booking is simple! Yes, we’ll confirm it 1 day before by text. We kindly ask that you confirm or decline the appointment at least 24 hours in advance to help us stay organized and provide the best service possible.
The duration of a grooming session depends on your pet’s size, breed, and specific needs. Typically, grooming takes 1-2 hours for most pets, while larger dogs may require up to 3 hours. We work at each pet’s pace, and factors like traffic can affect the timing. Therefore, we ask for a grace period of 30 minutes before and after the scheduled appointment (e.g., if your appointment is at 10 AM, we may arrive between 9:30 and 10:30 AM).
Your groomer will give you an estimated finish time, and we will always do our best to inform you if we are ahead or behind schedule.
Services like nail trims usually take about 15 minutes.
You or a trusted representative must be present when we arrive and when the grooming is complete so you can see your pet’s new look.
Once the grooming begins, you’re free to run errands or leave, but please ensure someone is available to take your pet back and make payment. We never leave pets unsupervised during their session.
For safety and insurance reasons, we ask that clients and their children not enter the grooming van while the grooming is taking place. We’re happy to show you the van before the grooming starts, but pets generally remain calmer and better behaved without their family present.
While we understand your desire to observe, the presence of owners or spectators can often excite pets, increasing the risk of injury. The grooming process involves sharp tools, and a pet that moves around on the grooming table can increase the risk of injury. We prioritize your pet’s safety and well-being, so we ask for your understanding if we request that you or your children stay outside the grooming area.
No, our grooming van is self-powered. It has its electricity, air conditioning, and warm water, so we don’t require any utilities from your home.
We accept cash, debit and credit cards. Payment is due once the grooming is complete, and you can pay the groomer directly.
Yes, we offer a discount for households with multiple pets. Contact us for more details and to schedule your pets together.
We may take before-and-after pictures of your pet to share on our social media. Rest assured, we will not include any personal information, such as your address or your name. Please let us know if you prefer that your pet not be featured.
Last Looks Policy: All grooming services are officially completed on time. Please review your pet carefully before the session ends.
Any changes must be requested during pickup. We offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee—if you’re unhappy with the results, we’ll redo the grooming for free. Please note, however, that any bath redo after pickup may incur additional fees.
Cancellation Policies
Cancellations or reschedules must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the appointment without rescheduling will incur a $35 penalty charge. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us adjust our schedule efficiently.
If you fail to provide a 24-hour cancellation notice, a 50% charge of the service will apply if canceled on the same day, and a 100% charge if no notice and no-show.
New clients who cancel late or fail to show up for their first appointment will not be eligible for future appointments. Thank you for your understanding, as this helps our business run smoothly.
To reschedule, please cancel your existing reservation within 24 hours, then book a new appointment. This helps us maintain an organized schedule for all our customers. Alternatively, you can text us at (415) 672-1750 with your preferred new date and time, and we’ll be happy to reschedule for you.
Once you’ve booked an appointment, we’ve reserved time specifically for you and your furry friend. You can cancel via the confirmation text or by texting (415) 672-1750. Please make sure cancellations are made within 24 hours to avoid the penalty fee. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the appointment will incur a $35 penalty charge. For more details, please refer to our What is your cancellation policy?
If you miss your appointment, a 100% charge of the service will apply. No-shows cannot be rescheduled. We appreciate your understanding, as missed appointments impact both other clients and our team.
Impact of No-Shows:
- You: Miss your service.
- Others: Lose the chance to book on that day and time.
- The professional: loss of time and income.
We appreciate your cooperation in helping us ensure a smooth and efficient scheduling process for everyone.
We offer a 15-minute grace period, but after that, your appointment may be canceled. Please arrive on time to help us serve all our clients efficiently.
Yes, we work on a rotational schedule. If a spot opens up, we will contact you based on availability.
We recommend setting up recurring grooming appointments to keep your pet’s coat healthy. After grooming your pet, we’ll provide guidance on how often they may need to be groomed and tips on maintaining their coat at home. It is proven that pets who are groomed regularly view grooming as routine and part of their life rather than a punishment, which can cause them to become fearful, unruly, or aggressive during their grooming. Regular grooming also promotes healthy skin and coat while preventing matting.
Health & Safety Policies
We ensure your pet’s safety by completing a comprehensive 7-Point Pet Care Check during check-in to identify potential issues. Our grooming vans are cleaned and disinfected after every visit to maintain a safe and sanitary environment. We also use the Groomer’s Helper tool to safely control your pet’s body and head while on the grooming table, ensuring a smooth and safe grooming experience.
In California, dogs are legally required to be up-to-date on their rabies vaccination. To ensure the safety of all pets, we must see proof of your pet’s rabies vaccination, including the expiration date, before their first grooming session.
Additionally, we require up-to-date vaccination records for all pets. The owner is responsible for providing these records before the grooming appointment.
For Dogs:
- Under 16 weeks: At least 2 rounds of puppy starter vaccines (distemper, hepatitis, and parvovirus)
- 16 weeks and older: Rabies vaccine
For Cats:
- Under 16 weeks: Vaccinations for parvovirus, herpesvirus type-1, and calicivirus
- 16 weeks and older: Rabies vaccine
Please ensure a 24-hour gap between your pet’s vaccine administration and grooming session.
Thank you for considering our grooming services for your senior pet. We deeply care about the well-being of all the animals in our care, and for senior pets, we take extra precautions to ensure their safety and comfort throughout the grooming process.
We currently do not offer grooming for pets over 14 years old due to the additional time, attention, and specialized care required. Senior pets, especially those with health concerns, need extra care that we are currently unable to provide. If your senior pet has health issues, we recommend seeking approval from your veterinarian before booking grooming services. We advise visiting a specialized pet hospital for proper care for pets with specific health concerns.
Please let us know if your pet has any special needs or sensitivities. You can use the notes section while booking to share specific details about your pet’s requirements with us. OhMDC groomers are trained to handle various pet needs and will work with you to ensure your pet’s safe, positive, and stress-free grooming experience.
Yes, we offer anal gland expression upon request. This service helps maintain your pet’s comfort and health by ensuring that their anal glands are adequately emptied. Anal glands can sometimes become impacted, causing discomfort, odor, or even infection. Regular anal gland expression can also improve your pet’s overall hygiene and comfort, especially for breeds that are prone to anal gland issues. If you would like this service, simply let us know when booking!
For your pet’s safety, we do not have other dogs running or playing loose in the vans while grooming occurs. During your pet’s grooming session, your pet will be accompanied by their groomer or a groomer’s assistant either on the grooming table or in the bathing area. Please have your pet on a leash to ensure their safety when approaching the van.
Yes, we groom aggressive dogs, but our approach depends on each pet’s behavior. We take every precaution to ensure your pet’s and our groomers’ safety. If your pet’s behavior poses a risk during grooming, we may need to stop the session.
Additionally, we do not groom overly hyperactive, injured, or elderly dogs that cannot stand independently. We recommend seeking specialized training or behavior modification programs if your dog shows aggression.
Please notify us in advance if your pet has any aggression concerns, as special handling charges may apply.
We reserve the right to muzzle a pet if necessary for safety. Owners must inform us in advance if their pet is aggressive, unpredictable, or has any other behavioral issues. Muzzling does not harm your pet, but may be needed to ensure the safety of everyone involved during grooming. We always strive to provide a calm and comfortable experience for your pet.
If your pet has fleas or ticks, we will notify you immediately and apply a specialized flea/tick treatment. We use shampoos that kill adult fleas, ticks, and eggs to help prevent reinfestation. A flea treatment fee will apply when this service is provided.
For the safety of your pet, we are unable to proceed with grooming if your pet shows any of the following symptoms:
- Persistent coughing or difficulty breathing
- Excessive shaking or discomfort specifically around the face
- Inability to remain calm or constantly moving in place.
- Signs of distress or vocalizing during the drying process
If your pet is experiencing diarrhea, is in heat, or has any other health issues, please wait until they have fully recovered before scheduling grooming. If your pet has special health issues, we recommend obtaining approval from a veterinarian before grooming.
Matting is very difficult to remove and may require your pet to be shaved. When mats form in an animal’s coat, they can grow tight and damage or tear the animal’s skin, leading to discomfort, potential infections, and even providing a breeding ground for parasites. These issues are often not visible until the mats are shaved off. If we determine that shaving is necessary, we will notify you and await your approval before proceeding.
Severely matted coats require extra care and may need to be shaved for your pet’s safety. We do not perform excessive “de-matting” because it can be painful, stressful, and dangerous for your pet. We recommend shaving the matting and maintaining a regular grooming schedule to prevent future issues. Matting can be painful for your pet, can cut off circulation, and lead to further health risks. While hair grows back, causing your pet discomfort during the de-matting process can affect their trust in us, so we prefer a gentler, safer approach.
Accidents are rare but can happen when working with sharp instruments and live pets that may move unexpectedly during grooming. In the unlikely event of a cut or injury during the grooming process, we will immediately inform you, provide first aid, and in severe cases, advise you to take your pet to a vet for further care. Please rest assured that we are fully insured and bonded to ensure your pet’s safety.
Important Reminders
We kindly ask that you arrive on time for your appointment. A 15-minute grace period is allowed, but your appointment may be canceled if you’re more than 15 minutes late.
Please be ready to pick up your pet within 10 minutes of receiving our call or text notifying you that the grooming is complete. Late pick-ups may incur a $45 daycare fee.
